Music has brought me to extreme highs and extreme lows at times. One day you lose a record deal and the next week you are #1 on iTunes jazz charts. The next day you are in debt from the lack of money produced by digital distribution royalties. I became something greater than potential in music. I created 3 full albums of original jazz music. All three albums have songs that are kept in permanent rotation at various radio stations. My music constantly draws strong reviews and positive criticism. Now I must rest in my achievements and begin my new life as an author and mental health advocate. A husband and father less distracted by the music business. A person affected less by schizophrenia. It’s true. Schizophrenia in my life makes life impossible sometimes. Here’s to new beginnings, writing and most importantly, listening to other people’s stories.
